Measurement principle
The working principle of the fluoride ion electrode is based on the ion-selective response of the lanthanum fluoride (LaF₃) single crystal membrane. The activity of fluoride ions in the solution is reflected by the change in membrane potential. The fluoride ions (F⁻) in the solution exchange with the fluoride ions on the lattice surface, forming a selective response. The difference in the activity of fluoride ions in the solution will lead to a potential difference (i.e., membrane potential) on both sides of the membrane. And it follows the quantitative relationship of the Nernst equation. The complete measurement system includes a fluoride ion selective electrode and a reference electrode. The potential difference between the two electrodes is measured by an ion meter.
Key points for Use
1. Ensure the cleanliness of the surface of the electrode single crystal film.
2. If dirt is found adhering to the surface, it can be rinsed with water, gently wiped with soft fine paper, or polished with special grinding paper. If the dirt still cannot be removed, it can be soaked in 3% dilute hydrochloric acid for a few seconds and then wiped with soft fine paper. After maintenance, the electrode needs to be placed in pure water for maintenance.
3. The Lyter type sensor is a product of HEWAY Company specifically designed for ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, chloride ions, fluoride ions, water hardness… The Lyter sensor is a digital multi-parameter integrated sensor for online measurement. The sensor adopts the ion electrode method, so during measurement, users only need to immerse the sensor into the water sample to be tested and can directly read the measurement value. The Lyter sensor uses a PH electrode as the reference electrode. Users can optionally select a certain interference factor electrode for automatic compensation (for example, potassium ion electrode for ammonia nitrogen and chloride ion electrode for nitrate nitrogen for automatic measurement compensation), thereby achieving better accuracy and stability.
4. Lyter uses independent measuring electrodes and reference electrodes, which only need to be replaced specifically, reducing usage and maintenance costs.
5. Regularly calibrate the electrodes to enhance the stability and accuracy of the measurement.
6. It is equipped with the UC1000 series universal controller, which is built-in with multiple measurement factors. The product has passed the EU CE certification and the US FCC certification.
